Qualifications for Employment

We hire only journeypersons with a minimum of five years experience in the commercial electrical industry.  Our screening process begins with a written exam and personal interview with our staff.  Prior to starting employment, each employee is checked for the following clearances:

  • PA Act 34 state background check
  • FBI Fingerprinting Clearance
  • Drug use history and testing
  • PA child abuse history clearance
  • Inspection of driving record for the previous five years

Employee Development and Commitment

We believe continuous skill development is often required to keep a step ahead of the competition and for the safety of our employees and clients. Therefore we require our electricians to complete ten hours of OSHA and CPR training and foremen to complete thirty hours of OSHA and CPR training. As part of our commitment to our employees and clients, we maintain a drug free work environment. Random drug testing is performed to uphold this policy.

Apprenticeship Program

Since 1995 we have sponsored over 60 apprentices in our annual program. Each year we sponsor about four new apprentices. We start the process each year by contacting local technical schools in Western Pennsylvania to get a list of the graduates with an associate degree in electrical technologies and science. Once interviewed and accepted into our program, we invest the next four years training our apprentices while they work side by side with one of our highly skilled electricians. In addition to the on the job training we will enroll our apprentices into a four year program at no cost to the employee.  After completion of the 4 year apprenticeship program and fulfilling all graduation requirements our apprentices are promoted to electrician status.
